A major hurdle... The Rams cleared a major hurdle with a 5-game win over Wyoming to distinguish themselves as the sole leaders of the Mountain Division of the WAC. The Rams took a two-game lead with 15-7 and 15-12 victories. However, the Cowboys bounced back with 16-14 and 15-10 wins of their own. The Rams ended the night with another 15-7 win in the final game. The Rams move to 11-1 in the WAC while Wyoming drops to 9-3. (November 13, 1998)

21 Straight... with two more straight games won the Rams extended their streak to 21 straight wins. The streak ended there as TCU took game 3 with a 15-8 victory. The Rams came back with a 15-8 win and move to 3-0 in the WAC. The Rams play again Saturday night at Southern Methodist. (October 9, 1998)

19 straight... The Rams won three straight games Saturday night to extend their streak to 19 straight wins. The Rams move to 2-0 in the WAC with the win over Rice. (October 3, 1998)

Rams roll over Tulsa. Three matches do it as Rams outscore Tulsa 45-13 to open WAC play 1-0. (October 2, 1998)

Quartet of victories gives the Rams the title to the Dr. Wynn Invitational. In addition to the 4-0 record the Rams won all 12 of their matches. The team returns to action Friday night when they take on Tulsa at Moby Arena. (September 30, 1998)

Rams on the Road... The Rams are on the road next weekend for the Southwest Missouri State University Dr. Wynn Invitational. CSU will face Hofstra on Friday, Sept. 25, Wichita State and SW Missouri State on Saturday, Set. 26, and SW Missouri State again on Sunday. (September 22, 1998)

Rams Overcome New Mexico State...The Rams fended off a scrappy New Mexico State University team in the fourth game to win 15-9, 15-8, 14-16, 15-13 Saturday night at Moby Arena. The Rams improve to 6-4 with the win. Junior Catie Vagneur led the Rams for the second straight night with 20 kills. That number topped the match as well. Freshman Angela Knopf was right on Vagneur's heels with 19 . Freshman Allison Peckham got the starting nod at setter and tallied 57 assists. Anika Donaldson topped the Roadrunners in kills with 17. Jessica Rombach totaled 34 assists in the losing effort. (September 19, 1998)

Debbie Murphy, a former CSU assistant coach and the wife of Rams assistant Ken Murphy, died Tuesday night of leukemia at a Houston hospital. She was 27."- Denver Post. (September 17, 1998)

Buffs top Rams in three... The Colorado State women's volleyball was knocked off by No. 15 Colorado Wednesday night in Boulder 11-15, 9-15, 3-15, and fell to 4-4 overall. The Buffs forced the Rams to hit a season-low .048, committing 31 errors, and only racking up 37 kills. The Rams head into a doubleheader weekend with Maryland on Friday and New Mexico State on Saturday. Both games are at 7 p.m. (September 16, 1998)
