Live Coverage of the Rams vs. Bulldogs

Derek Franz will kick it away for the Rams. At the five Pratt will bring it back to the 24 for a 19-yard return. Volek gives to Pittman who hurdles a Ram gaining 11 and a 'dog first.

First down and Volek gives to Pittman again around the left with a flag down. The call will be offsides on the Rams. First and five gives Volek another chance to pass and he hits Thompson for a gain of nine yards.

First down Bulldogs at the midfield stripe. Vaughan and Haggans tackle for a loss of one yard. Second and 11 for the Bulldogs and the give is to Pittman who is just short of the first down. 3rd and one for the Bulldogs. Volek gives to Pittman who is met by Vaughan for a loss of 2. Fourth and two for the Bulldogs. Volek wants to pass and will be sacked for a loss of 8 yards by Rick Crowell.

Ryan Esslinger will come into play quarterback for the Rams. Esslinger hands it off for six yards. On second down Eslinger hands to Blake again who takes it around the left end for a gain of 7.

First and ten Rams on the Bulldog 34. Blake gets the call agian and makes a two-yard gain out of it. On second down Blake carries through the right side of the line. Third and 3 for the Rams on the 30 and Blake gets half a yard. 4th and two and the Rams will go for it. Blake is a yard short of the first down marker.

With 2:23 left Fresno State takes over on downs. David Carr comes in for the Bulldogs. The handoff goes to Jo Turner for a gain of two. Second down looks liek a repeat of first down but there is no gain. On third down Carr passes complete for 12 yards to Shabaglian.

The first down pass is complete and gains the Bulldogs six yards. On second down Turner will carry forward for five yards and another Bulldog first down.... carr wants to throw and throws it complete to Ram J'Sharlon Jones.

Matt Newton will take the last snap for the Ramsand give it to Brian Singleton for a gain of 11 yards to end the game.

Moreno lines the Rams up at their own 38. From the shotgun he throws complete to Paul Turner. On second down McDougal carries around the right end for a gain of ten yards and a Ram first down on the Bulldog 46.

On the reverse Darran Hall takes it 35 yards south for a first and ten on the Bulldog's 11-yard-line.

First and ten and Moreno is tripped up for a sack and loss of three. On second down Moreno gives to McDougal who is wrapped up at the 19 for a loss of five yards. 3rd and 18 and Moreno wants to pass and has McCoy for the TD strike. Franz adds the PAT. 41-3 Rams.

Tucker throws a pass downfield off the reverse. Eason Ramson is there to break it up for the Rams. On second down Volek tosses it out of bounds incomplete. Third brings Volek up passing and he finally gets it complete to Branstetter who is met after 17 yards by Kvamme.

First down Bulldogs and Kimbrough will carry for a loss after Vaughan brings him down two yards short of the line of scrimmage. Tucker brings the reverse around for a gain of two and it's 3rd and ten.... Volek's pass is complete after a false start. The ten yard gain would leave five to go but ther's a flag down on the play. The five yard face mask will leave the Bulldogs just short of the first down marker. The Bulldogs carry for seven yards.

1st and ten Bulldogs on the Ram 39. Volek wants to pass and throws it longer than Tucker has gone deep. On second and ten Volek throws deep and incomplete... His third down pass to Pittman is incomplete. 4th and ten and the Bulldogs will go for it. The Rams bring everybody and it's an incomplete pass.

Moreno comes up passing to Frank Rice for three yards on first down. McDougal carries around the right end for another three and it will be 3rd and four for the Rams at thie own 38. Moreno from teh shotgun throws incomplete to Dameon Washington. Mike Newell is injured an dleaces for the Rams. Preston Loos comes in to punt and gets away a 27-yard hurried kick.

Volek lines up the Bulldogs and will get called for a false start. On first and 15 Volek calls off and passes back to Pittman who will be brought down for a loss of nine yards. 2nd and 24.... Volek passes incomplete. On third down he'll hit Pittman for a gain of 7. 4th and 17 as Darran Hall is deep for the Rams. The 44-yard punt is brought back 10 yards.

1st and ten Rams on their own 39. Moreno throws complete for Dallas Davis as Moreno is hit hard. The gain is good for 14 yards. Just across midfield Moreno hands off to Washington for no gain. Second and ten from the Bulldog 47 for the Rams. Moreno passes complete to Washingon for a 22-yard gain.

First and ten on teh Bulldog 25 as Jamie Blake takes the draw forward for eight. Moreno's pass is complete to Workman who slid to the end-zone but he's one yard short. Jamie Blake will carry it across for the Rams. Franz will attempt the PAT and it's no good - wide left.

From their own two-yard-line Kimbrough carries for no gain. On second down Volek wants to pass and throws it away down the sideline. Volk's thrid down pass is complete for a gain of 3. The punt is a booming 61 yards. Darran Hall looses two yards on the return.

It's thrid and 4 on the Bulldog's 45. The Bulldogs are a yard short of a first down bringing up 4th and one near midfield. Ramson is deep for the punt. Ramson takes the ball on the 19 for an eight-yard return.

1st and ten Rams on their own 19. Moreno waits with the team after a TV timeout. Moreno lines up and gives it to Washington who comes around the left end for a gain of one yard. On the 20 Moreno gives again to Washington who will be stopped for a loss of 3. 3rd and 12 coming up for the Rams. Moreno passes incomplete for Corey McCoy, it's Moreno's second incompletion of the afternoon.

Preston Loos punts it away.

On first down from their own 46 Volek comes up passing long downfield. It's incmoplete bringing up second where the Bulldogs will go with the draw and get nothing. Volek throws complete to Terrence Jones at the Ram 40. 1st down 'dogs.

Volek comes up and wants to pass overthrowing Tucker by a long mile. The second-down pass is tipped by Taylor and missed by Mshanke. 3rd and ten and Volk's pass is tipped by Jones before being picked off by Eason Ramson who takes it 30 yards upfield before Jones brings him down.

1st and ten Rams on the Bulldog 45. Volek's pick was his first in his last 205 attempts. An injured Bulldog leaves the field and Moreno lines up under center. Washington takes it straight over the middle of the pile and is very close to the first down. It will be third and 1 on the 35. Moreno will sneak and get the first down.

On the Bulldog 39 Moreno will line up for first down. Moreno tosses to McDougal who gets two from what could have turned into a sack. On second down his deep pass for Corey McCoy is deep and too long. The third down pass is incomplete in the end zone. Preston Loos punts the ball out at the 2-yard line.

Moreno's pass to Derrek Uhl who is inches short of a touchdown. Darran Hall is injured on the play. Moreno sneaks in for another six. Franz adds the PAT.

Franz kicks it to Pratt who brings it back 18 yards to the 18-yard-line. Volek wants to pass and finds Kimbrough for a gain of 8. On second down the give is to Kimbrough and Joey Porter wrapps him up for a loss of one. 3rd and four coming up for the Bulldogs. Volek's pass is good to the first down marker. Two incomplete passes bring up third and ten. Volek passes for 11 yards and a first down at the Bulldog 40.

The first-down pass is incomplete. On second down Volek passes complete to Tucker for twenty yards across the middle.

Volek passes for Pittman on first down for a gain of 8. His second-down pass is incomplete to Tucker. On third and 2 Volek wants to pass and overthrows an open Tucker. It would be 50-yard field goal into the wind so they'll go for it on 4th down. Volek's pass is incomplete to Tucker.

1st and ten Rams at their 32. Moreno gives to Jamie Blake who gets 14 yards before the late hit penalty is tacked on. From the Bulldog 38. With :03 on the clock Moreno passes for the end-zone. It's picked off in the end-zone.

On second down Volek is pushed out of bounds for a loss of eight yards by Clark Haggans making it thrid and 13. Pittman carries around the left end for a gain of one. Jeff Hanna comes on for the field goal attempt. It's good and it's 21-3 Rams.

Hanna kicks it away to Darran Hall who takes it 19-yards before Hanna brings him down.

1st and ten and Moreno passes complete to Workman for a gain of nine. On second and one Washington will be tackled for a loss of three. Thrid and four for the Rams. Moreno wants to pass and has Derrek Uhl for a a gain of 15.

1st and ten Rams at the Bulldog 47. Moreno opens up and passes downfield for Dallas Davis and 27-yards. Moreno lines up at the Bulldog 20 and scrambling looking to pass is finally pushed out of bounds by Skipper after a gain of 7. 2nd and three as Washington takes it across the ten to the eight and Fresno State calls a timeout.

Moreno is now 9 of 10 for 116 yards. Franz kicks it through the end zone.

On 1st and ten Pittman carries around the right end for 13 yards and Fresno's second first-down.

1st and 10 Fresno as Pittman runs right and runs into Taylor. Pittman's gain of 6 leads to a no-gainer on second down. On third and 4 Fresno gets seven yards and a first down on the Bulldow 44.

1st and 10 and Pittman tries to carry through the pile at the center of the line. Ross is there again to meet him. The four-yard gain sets up second and 6 as the give is to Jamie Kimbrough who dances and then turns upfield for a gain of 41.

1st and 10 Bullodgs on the Ram 15. Pittman carries for two and meets Nate Kvamme. On second down the give is to Pittman again who, following some missed Ram tackles gians five to the Ram 7-yard line.... Pittman carries for no gain. On 4th and 2 Pittman carries over left guard for a first down.

Kimbrough is hit for a slight loss on first down. Volek comes under center on second down at the Ram 5 and the play is waved off as Fresno calls timeout.

Kimbrough takes the draw for eight bringing up 4th and 49. Hall is deep and the punt is good for 54 yards with no return. Fresno kicked it to the first down marker.

Washington takes the draw for three to the Ram's 38. Moreno comes up on second down and passes complete to Dameon Washingon for a gain of 4 yards. On thrid and two Moren lines pu and passes to an open Frank Kulis for his first catch at Colorado State. The 31 yard gain brings the Rams to the 28.

On first and ten the reverse goes to Darran Hall who hauls it very quickly to the end-zone for another touchdown. Franz adds the PAT.

Franz will kick it away. Carl Holmes takes the ball and brings it back to the Bulldog 23. Volek hands to Pittman who will get eight before being stopped at the 31. Pittman gets it again on second down and meets several Rams on the line of scrimmage. Pittman tries the left side and is tackeld by Ross near the marker. After a measurement it's a no-gainer bringing in Roberts to kick it away to Darran Hall. Robert's pass is complete to Kimbrough on the fake punt.

From the midfield stripe Volek hands to Pittman who is met by Ross and Cieslinski. Clark Haggans causes a fumble which jumps around the field for an eventual loss of 47 yards before Fresno State recovers at their own 4. 3rd and 57 coming up for Fresno to start the second half.

The crowd goes crazy with the CU-Iowa State score. Moreno from the shotgun has McDougal complete for 16-yards and a Ram first down.

On first and ten Moreno fakes and rolls out passing to Derek Uhl who makes some moves and takes it upfield as the play will come back as in illeagal use of hands will cut the gain to 16-yards.

Moreno lines up at the midfield line and hands it to McDougal who turns upfield for three yards. On the bulldog 46 brfore a no-gainer to McDougal. On 3rd and 7 Moreno passes to McDougal who makes a fancy step and takes it for 11-yards.

1st and ten Rams on the Bulldog 41. Moreno fakes and throws long for Paul Turner who is hit early but no flag comes. 2nd and ten and it's straight ahead for 6. Third and 4 and the give is to McDougal who will make a 30-yard touchdown run out of it. Franz's kick is quick and away. 14-0 Rams.

On the day McDougal has 4 carries for 69-yards and two touchdowns.

The Rams line up and Moreno passes to Dallas Davis for a gain of 9. Second and one as the Rams line up at the Bulldog 44. Washington runs wide right and is tripped up at the original line of scrimmage. Jamie bake is in and gets the call taking it close to the marker but just short. Preston Loos comes on to punt it away much to the fan's dismay. The delay of game call will give Loos a little more room to work with. Adrian Ross nearly downs the ball on the one but falls into the end-zone.

On first and ten Vox gives to Pittman who carries for four yards. On second and six Vox passes complete for a gain of three yards as Ramson wraps the play up. 3rd and 3 as the fans get into the game and Vox's pass is tipped and then dropped by Kimbrough. Jeff Roberts comes in to punt again to Hall.

Fresno downs the abll at the Ram 18-yard-line.

Derek Franz lines up to kick it away to Fresno. The kick is good to the 4. A 19-yard return takes teh Bulldogs to the 23. Volek scrambles and passes to Pittman for a gain of one. On second down Volek passes to Jamie Kimbrough who is tackled for a loss of five as soon as he catches the ball. Third and 13 and the whistles come before the play. An offsides penalty will make it 3rd and 8 from the Fresno 24-yard-line. Volek under center comes up and wants to pass putting it through the hands of Terrence Jones. Jeff Roberts comes in to punt it away to Darran Hall who gets a 14-yard return after a 42-yard punt.

Two penalties started the game for the Rams and Bulldogs. The Ram were called for a delay as the parachute team was late arriving. Moreno gives to Washington for ten. On first and ten from the Ram 46 Moreno hits Rice for nine yards. On second down McDougal takes it up the center for another nine yards.

1st and ten Rams on the Bulldog 41. Moreno from the shotgun hits Darran Hall for a gain of seven yards. On 2nd Moreno comes under center and hands to Washington who looks to be half a yard short of the first down marker. On 3rd and 1 Moreno lines the team up and pitches to McDougal who carries for 27 yards and a Ram touchdown. Franz adds the PAT and it's 7-0 Rams after 6 plays and 80 yards.

The green and yellow smoke has cleared the field after the armed forces demonstration and the 1997 Rams have taken the field. The senior class of 1997 has been introduced for their last home game. Fresno won the toss and defers. The Rams will recieve and defend the North goal. It's 52 with a wind from the South at 10-12 mph.

Fourteen Rams will see their last game at Hughes Stadium today. Lubick's first recuriting class is graduating after a long string of honors. In their four years at CSU the graduating seniors have seen two post-season bowl games. Starting quarterback Moses Moreno was one of the seniors who contributed to the Ram's stellar game in Arizonia their freshman year.

Today Eric Bailey, Darrell Ballard, Joshua Dansereau, Steve Dundee, Preston Loos, DeVaughn Hawkins, Moses Moreno, Jason Radkovitch, Eason Ramson, Adrian Ross, Brady Schneider, Geoff Turner, Paul Turner and Eli Workman will take the field after the salute to the armed forces display of military expertise.
