Rams Ranked 23 in Preseason Football PollThursday, June 5, 1997
Fort Collins -- Colorado State University's football squad is ranked 23rd in in the preseason poll to be released in The Sporting News college football preview later in the summer. TSN lists the Rams as the odds-on favorite to win the Pacific Division and advance to the WAC title game Dec. 6 in Las Vegas. Colorado State was last ranked during the early stages of the 1995 season when the Rams went on to win a second straight WAC title and Holiday Bowl appearance. The Rams in 1994 made school history by climbing as high as 10th in both major polls, and concluding the season 15th nationally following the team's first-ever Holiday Bowl invitation.
