Colorado State University announced its plans for its Girls Basketball Camp Programs. The staff and program for the camps are listed below.
1997 Summer Camp Staff
Greg Williams, Head Coach
As the head coach of the Rams for the past seven years, Greg Williams is the winningest coach in the history of Colorado State women's basketball. In 1996, he led the Rams to their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Before coming to Colorado State, Williams was the head coach at the University of Houston for five seasons.
Kari Gallegos-Doering, Assistant Coach
Kari Gallegos-Doering, in her fourth season with the Rams, came to Colorado State in 1993 after three seasons as an assistant coach at Boise State. She is a Fort Collins native and was the head coach at Northglenn High School for one season after playing at Northern Colorado.
Misty Murphy, Assistant Coach
Misty Murphy (formerly Smith) is in her second year as a full-time assistant coach and camp director with the Rams. She served as a student assistant in 1995 while receiving her degree from Colorado State. Murphy was a key player for the Rams from 1992-94.
Kelly Packard, Assistant Coach
Kelly Packard returned to Colorado State as an assistant coach this past season. Packard was also an assistant coach for the Rams from 1991-93. Packard played four years at Anderson University and earned her degree in mass communications in 1990.
The Ram coaching staff will serve as camp directors while top college and high school coaches, along with top collegiate players from around the region will be instructors.
Colorado State provides a campus with excellent indoor facilities in a newly renovated Moby Arena. Residence halls are furnished with two regular twin beds, bedding and towels. Meals are provided in the residence hall cafeterias. Snacks and Colorado State apparel can be purchased in the camp store.

Fundamental Camp
June 9-12 - Grades 4-10
- Enhancement of fundamental skills
- Specialized clinics daily
- Individual instruction and evaluation
- Individual contests and awards
- Game competition daily
Cost - $200 - Boarding
- $175 - Non Boarding
Team Camp
June 15-19 - High School varsity, JV and freshman teams
- Guaranteed minimum of 11 games competition
- Competitive play for varsity, JV and fresman teams
- Clincs and practice sessions available
- Eight player minimum per team (unless pre-arranged)
- Coach's room comped
- Coaches round table nightly
Cost - $165 - Boarding
- $140 - Non Boarding
Advanced Camp June 22-25
- High School varsity, JV and freshman players
- Specialized skills for development of competitive individual and team concepts
- Competitive play daily
- Individual contests and awards
- Daily skills clinics and practice sessions
- Individual instruction and evaluation
Cost - $200 - Boarding
- $175 - Non Boarding
