Colorado State Holds Open Forum Question And Answer Sessions For Vice President For University Advancement Candidates

FORT COLLINS--Colorado State University will hold open forum
sessions for the two leading candidates for the position of vice
president for university advancement.
John P. Scully, formerly vice president of external
relations for US West Communications, is scheduled to speak at
the first session scheduled for Monday, Aug. 10, from 4-5 p.m.
in Room 208 of the Lory Student Center on the Colorado State
campus.
Robert Hill, vice president for public relations at Syracuse
University, will speak at the second session scheduled for
Thursday, Aug. 13 from 4:15-5:15 p.m. in the same location.
Scully, as vice president at US West from 1997 to 1998 was
responsible for the company's 14-state territory, managing all
facets of media and community relations. Prior to that, from
1988 to 1992 he served as vice president for business development
and external affairs for US West NewVector Group, one of five
officers who built a start-up company into a billion-dollar
business. Scully was also a member of the State Board of
Agriculture, the governing body of the Colorado State University
system.
Hill, has held the vice presidency at Syracuse University
since 1988. He is responsible for setting university policy,
serving as spokesperson and acting as press secretary to the
chancellor. From 1982 to 1988, he was a vice president for
program development and developed and implemented a wide range of
programs in fundraising, alumni relations and public relations.
At Colorado State, the vice president for university
advancement is a key member of the institution's management team
supporting the ongoing teaching, research and outreach mission of
the university. The position oversees the management and
coordination of university-wide development, alumni relations,
university media and community relations, internal and external
communications, publications, graphics and creative design
services.
The search committee for this position has been chaired by
Gerry Bomotti, vice president for administrative services.
