Colorado State Engineering Students Showcase Projects In Annual Celebration

FORT COLLINS--Colorado State University engineering students will showcase their projects as part of Engineering Days April 24-25 on campus.

The annual Engineering Days celebration will include displays of student work and activities for the university and Fort Collins community. Activities will include robot demonstrations, remote control car racing, miniature golf and a picnic. All events are free and open to the public.

"This is an opportunity for the community to see projects students have been working on all year," said Chela Stanley, president of the Engineering Legislature. "It's a chance for students to show off their unique designs and to be recognized for their work."

A panel of judges made up of professionals from the engineering industry will judge student projects and awards will be given to those who have submitted outstanding work.

A schedule of events follows. April 24

9 a.m.-4 p.m. - Student projects displayed, North and Main Ballrooms, Lory Student Center.

9 a.m.-4 p.m. - Remote control car racing, North Ballroom, Lory Student Center

9 a.m.-4 p.m. - Nine-hole miniature golf, Main Ballroom, Lory Student Center.

10 a.m.-1 p.m. - Radar Gun Fun game, west lawn, Lory Student Center.

10 a.m.-2 p.m. - Throw a pie at your favorite engineering faculty member, west lawn, Lory Student Center.

10 a.m.- 4 p.m. - Concrete toboggan project on display, Main Ballroom, Lory Student Center.

Noon-3 p.m. - Join chemical engineering students in an ultimate frisbee tournament, west lawn of Lory Student Center.

Noon-12:45 p.m. - Judge orientation and lunch.

12:45-4 p.m. - Judging.

Noon-2 p.m. - Paper airplane toss competition, west balcony, Lory Student Center.

4-6 p.m. - Annual picnic, volleyball court, Allison Hall.

April 25

8 a.m.-1 p.m. - Student projects displayed, Main and North Ballrooms, Lory Student Center.

10:30 a.m. - Awards ceremony, Rambouilet Room, Lory Student Center.

8 p.m.-midnight - The Society of Women Engineers hosts kareoke night, Pitchers' Sports Bar in Fort Collins.

Engineering Days events are organized by students in the Engineering Legislature and sponsored by the Engineering Dean's Council and Associated Students of Colorado State University.
