Colorado State University Alumnus Gives $25,000 Toward Scholarship Endowment

FORT COLLINS--A Colorado State alumnus has contributed
$25,000 to the university to help fund an annual scholarship
awarded to students from Hawaii majoring in history or human
development and family studies.
Alfred Castle, president of the Samuel N. and Mary Castle
Foundation and former vice president for University Advancement
at California State University, offered the $25,000 gift to
Colorado State to continue funding the scholarship he helped
create in 1996.
Castle earned his bachelor's degree in history in 1971 and
his master's degree in history in 1972 from Colorado State.
The Samuel N. and Mary Castle Foundation was formed in 1925.
The foundation works to meet broad community needs in Hawaii,
including early childhood education and support of human
resources.
