Bob And Joyce Everitt Fact Sheet

Bob and Joyce Everitt, both from Enid, Oklahoma, were
married while attending the University of Oklahoma. Bob graduated
with a bachelor's degree in marketing and finance and Joyce
earned her bachelor's degree in social work.
Following graduation, Bob served in the Korean War. Upon his
return in 1953, the Everitts moved to Fort Collins and bought a
lumber company in conjunction with Bob's father.
In 1956, Bob founded Everitt Companies and began developing
residential real estate in the Fort Collins area. The Everitt
Companies later moved into commercial property development, with
the Foothills Fashion Mall in Fort Collins being the premier
property. The Everitt Companies also worked with the Colorado
State University Research Foundation to develop the Center for
Advanced Technology.
Everitt's leadership in the business and civic community has
included service as chairman and director of First State Bank of
Fort Collins; chairman of Fort Collins Inc.; president of the
Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce; a director of the Fort
Collins Downtown Development Authority; board member of the
Rawhide Marathon Foundation; member of the Salvation Army
advisory board; member of the Fort Collins Foundation (now the
Community Foundation); and committee member of the Governor's
Front Range Planning Task Force.
The Everitts also are strong supporters of the arts in the
Fort Collins community. Joyce is an artist specializing in
woodcarving and Bob created a sculpture studio through Everitt
Companies. Joyce was one of the founders of the Children's
Theatre, and continues to be active in the community.
Bob's contributions to Colorado State have included
involvement in various organizations including service as vice
chairman of the Development Council; member of the athletics
campaign cabinet; member of the State Board of Agriculture;
member of the CSU Foundation; and chairman of the College of
Business Partners for Excellence Campaign. Joyce has participated
in numerous university events and was instrumental in
establishing the Pi Beta Phi sorority at Colorado State.
The Everitts have generously supported Colorado State's
campaigns, and are members of the Morgan Society, Rams Club and
Rams Horn. Their contributions have included support of the
Morgan Library campaign, the College of Business, Colorado State
athletics and the Equine Teaching and Research Center. The
Everitt's recent gift toward construction of the new Thurman
McGraw athletic facility helped bring the $8.6 million athletics
campaign to a close.
The Everitts have three children, David Everitt, Stanley
Everitt and Claudia Gillum. When Bob stepped down as president of
the Everitt Companies in 1993, his son David became president.
His son Stanley is executive vice president and his son in law
Jack Gillum is vice president of Everitt Companies and general
manager of Foothills Fashion Mall.
