Colorado State University Hosts Engineering Shadow Day For High- School Students Oct. 22
Wednesday, October 15, 1997
FORT COLLINS--High-school students will learn about
engineering majors and experience university life at the second
annual shadow day hosted by the College of Engineering at
Colorado State University on Oct. 22.
About 60 students from advanced math and physics classes at
Fort Collins High School, Poudre High School and Rocky Mountain
High School in Fort Collins and Montbello High School in Denver
will attend. Each participant will be paired with a Colorado
State engineering student and will attend classes all morning.
Following classes, students will be joined by engineering
department heads and other college representatives at a luncheon
hosted by the College of Engineering and the engineering
departments. The luncheon will include a panel discussion to
address student questions about scholarships, internships and
jobs.
"Shadow day gives participants a firsthand student
perspective of college life," said Nancy Farrell in the
department of electrical engineering. "Last year, participants
gave us extremely positive feedback. High-school students came
away better able to judge majors they wish to pursue and also
became aware of the quality of engineering programs at Colorado
State."
For more information, call Farrell in the College of
Engineering at (970) 491-1033.
