Thursday, October 9, 1997

FORT COLLINS--Colorado State University alumni employed by United Airlines recently presented a $100,000 check on behalf of that company to the CSU Foundation.

The university will use the gift in conjunction with its effort to recover from the flood of July 28.

Susan Coulter, vice president for university advancement at Colorado State, praised the commitment from United Airlines and the university's alumni.

"This generous gift will help the university as we continue to move forward in our flood recovery efforts," Coulter said. "We are extremely grateful for the commitment shown to Colorado State by United Airlines and our alumni."

Roger Gibson, vice president for United Airlines' Mountain Region, said that one of the airline's key missions is to assist in local communities to support youth and educational programs.

"Additionally, many United Airlines employees are Colorado State University graduates who wanted to show their support in light of the university's flood recovery efforts."
