President Yates Delivers Fall Address Sept. 23, Recognizes Community Flood-Recovery Efforts
Wednesday, September 17, 1997
FORT COLLINS--Colorado State University President Albert
Yates will deliver his annual fall address Sept. 23 and recognize
those who have contributed to flood-recovery efforts during the
last two months.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to gather on the
Oval at 11 a.m. President Yates will deliver his annual state-of-
the-university address beginning at 11:15 a.m., followed by a
complimentary picnic, entertainment and recreational activities
until 1:30 p.m. In addition, a university photo will be taken of
all those attending the event immediately following the
President's address.
In the spirit of university pride, Sept. 23 will be an
official "green and gold day" on campus. Everyone will be
encouraged to wear the school colors to the event to promote
pride and esprit de corps.
"It is important that we take this time, as a community,
to thank one another, recognize those who have struggled and
sacrificed, and unite in the spirit of camaraderie and
friendship," Yates said.
While Celebrate Colorado State! festivities have
traditionally been held during the spring semester, this year's
fall address and university picnic represent a move to recognize
and celebrate the accomplishments of the university community
throughout the entire year.
