Tuesday, July 8, 1997

FORT COLLINS--Tickets are selling fast for the 5th Annual Rockies Ag Family Appreciation Day, so place your order today. This fun-filled event features Rockies baseball, a barbecue and a benefit auction to honor the social and economic contributions of Colorado and Wyoming agricultural families.

Pre-game festivities begin at 1 p.m. July 26 at the National Western Stock Show Complex with a catered barbecue, followed by a benefit auction from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. KOA Rockies announcers Jeff Kingery and Wayne Hagin will bring their own brand of humor and baseball knowledge to the auction. At 6:05 p.m., the fun moves to Coors Field, where the Colorado Rockies take on the Chicago Cubs.

Money raised at the auction funds scholarships for agriculture students at Colorado State and the University of Wyoming. Some of the items up for bid include:

* autographed Rockies team baseballs;

* original western artwork;

* tickets to Cheyenne Frontier Days; and

* much more.

Round-trip bus service is available to Coors Field from the barbecue site for $6 per person. Parking at the National Western Stock Show Complex is free. Tickets for the barbecue are $7.50 per person. Baseball tickets are $5, $9 or $11. The $9 discount packages are sold out; a limited number of $11 discount packages still are available.
