Authority On Nutrition To Speak At Colorado State University

FORT COLLINS--Arthur Hecker, an internationally known authority on clinical nutrition, will speak on "Health Care Trends: Your Nutritional Options" at 3 p.m. April 25 in Room 114 of Colorado State University's Animal Sciences Building.

Hecker is vice president of medical nutrition research and development at the Ross Products Division of Abbot Laboratories. He has served on numerous science-advisory boards, including those of the National Academy of Science, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Department of Defense, Ohio State University, the University of Illinois and the University of Missouri.

He is an elected member of the American Institute of Nutrition and American Men and Women of Science, and a fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine.

Hecker, who lectures throughout the world on nutrition, received his Ph.D. degree in animal nutrition from Colorado State in 1972. He also will be recognized Friday evening as the College of Agricultural Sciences' 1997 Honor Alumnus.
