Cow/calf College Scheduled For Farm And Ranch Managers

FORT COLLINS--Farm and ranch managers are invited to attend
the fourth annual Three-State Cow/Calf College.
Scheduled for June 2-6 at the Nebraska College of Technical
Agriculture at Curtis, the college is sponsored by Cooperative
Extension Integrated Resource Management Programs at Colorado
State University, the University of Nebraska and Kansas State
University.
Economic and production topics to be discussed include:
* low-cost production practices;
* record keeping;
* marketing alternatives;
* range and pasture management;
* herd-health management; and
* cow/calf nutrition, genetics and reproduction.
The college also will include hands-on workshops, grass
identification, ration formulation, cattle selection, veterinary
labs, feedlot and grazing tours.
The schedule is flexible, so participants can attend any day
or all five days. Registration is $40 to $60 per day, which
includes two meals and a notebook of reference materials. Other
meals and lodging are available at low costs. Deadline for
registration is
May 20.
