Fourth Rocky Mountain Horse Expo Scheduled

Monday, March 17, 1997

FORT COLLINS--Horse hobbyists, enthusiasts and professionals are invited to attend the Fourth Rocky Mountain Horse Expo April 4-6 at the Events Center in the National Western Stock Show Complex in Denver.

Co-sponsors Colorado State University Cooperative Extension and the Colorado Horse Council have planned plenty of educational, entertainment and shopping opportunities for those interested in horses.

The Expo will feature many outstanding equine educators, such as:

* Linda Tellington-Jones, founder of TTEAM, a holistic method of teaching and nurturing animals that promotes emotional and physical health;

* Richard Shrake, a leading proponent of "Resistance Free" Riding and world renowned trainer and judge; and

* Temple Grandin, Colorado State Cooperative Extension animal-science specialist, world-renowned animal behaviorist and leading designer of livestock handling systems.

Planned events include arena demonstrations, a Horsemen's College, horse industry trade show, breed exhibits, stallion row and special equine acts. For the first time, the Expo is offering a chance for kids--both big and small--to enter a horse contest. After judging, Amateur Art Contest entries will be on display for public viewing from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 5.
