Barney Cosner New Extension Youth-Livestock Specialist

FORT COLLINS--Barney Cosner has joined Colorado State University Cooperative Extension's youth-specialist team. Cosner is an assistant professor in the animal sciences department at Colorado State and will be Extension's youth-livestock specialist.

Cosner will be responsible for enhancing the youth-livestock ethics program and providing support for traditional 4-H animal projects. Cosner has 15 years of experience in this area and looks forward to combining his interest and expertise with those of other Extension specialists and agents.

A native of Wyoming, Cosner received a master's degree in 1978 and doctorate in 1980 in agricultural education from Oklahoma State University. Previous to joining the Colorado State faculty, Cosner was director of agriculture and livestock at the State Fair of Texas. In addition, he was manager of the Horse and Livestock Show at the National Western Livestock Show and Rodeo in Denver and was a staff member at Iowa State University.
